Janique and Jake from Downhill Productions used our studio to shoot an effects sequence a new music video for My-G. The sequence involved doing a time lapse on a dying flower. It took awhile; the Downhill kids getting done 3am-ish. If it need ever be done again, note to self, RoundUp works much more efficiently than heat.
With additional help, we got back to work after the new year. Edie and Em work on puppets while Colleen works on moss and rigging for the sets.
We started on the set table tonight.
One of the posts was cut short so I didn’t add two more center legs, and I didn’t want to add one center center leg since it would probably interfere with the magnets or tiedowns. It seems pretty stable; I think some cross beams will help a ton.
Unfortunately, we should have tested the connectors for the pipe rigging. Just because it says 1-inch it doesn’t mean it actually fits 1-inch pipe. The t-conectors are too small and all the others are too big. Weird eh?
We’ve been trying for awhile to figure out the best solution to make tiny dimmable lights for fireflies. These are tiny rice lights found at a model train store; they look surprisingly like fireflies (I think).
Just found out about this screening of Nosferatu with live pipe organ accompaniment. Looks like it’s this Sunday (October 23rd) at the Tabor Heights United Methodist Church @ 4pm.
I’ve seen Nosferatu with live music before and it’s awesome. I highly recommend it. You can find out more about the flick at the iMDB page or the wikipedia page. It’s an expressionist masterpiece that holds up okay (the acting, particularly the portrayal of Knock, is insane in a bad way).
the fam and i took a road trip through Washington and into British Columbia. we camped in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest the first night and on Lake Roosevelt the third night.
we took a bunch of pics and video along the way. here are two “slow-mo” shots of Lower Falls on the Lewis River:
